Madonna really wants Mercy. Not forgiveness or pity but the three-year-old Malawian girl Mercy James. Initially during the adoption process Madonna was denied custody because she had “not lived in the east African state for 18 months,” which would be impossible with her schedule and lifestyle. Madonna appealed and one of the judges has stated that that rule was very outdated. According to The Sun, two of the three judges assigned to the appeal case have approved the adoption and the third is “in complete unison with them.”

One thing about Madonna, she doesn’t give up. A close friend of Madonna’s said that “She made a promise that she wouldn’t give up on Mercy and, believe me, she could move mountains when she’s this determined.” The official ruling will take place this Sunday.

Do you think foreign adoptions of children living in orphanages should be made easier to provide these children a “better life”?

Nah. Why give them a family??? A life with love and stuff like decent food and clothing….. WTF??? There are many many people who would open their home to a child if only the entire process didn’t suck. Really. I’m not saying to end homestudies or the like, but when we were looking into foreign adoption, we were told we might need money for “extras” (bribes).

The system is corrupt,
‘love and stuff’ don’t prevent trauma however good the intentions. The celebrity lifestyle is never suitable for adoptees however stubborn or rich they may be.

Usually, I’m not in favor of giving kajillionaires preferential treatment, but in a case where you’re trying to assess someone’s ability to be a provider of resources to a needy person, an incredibly rich person fits the bill.

Then let wealthy celebrities “adopt” an orphanage, village school or family by financially supporting them. What child deserves a self-obsessed narcissist for a mother no matter how wealthy?
