Blago’s Wife Ate Tarantula For Her Kids
Taking a page from Kate Gosselin, Patti Blagojevich — wife of Rod, whom I call B-Rod (which never caught on but I still think it’s funny) — is doing reality TV for her kids.
Let me explain.
Remember Rod Blagojevich? Former governor of Illinois? Really really big hair?
Well, he needs work. And money. Mostly money. So when he was asked to appear on the NBC show “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” (remember when NBC was a real network?), he said sure. BUT! He’s not allowed to leave the country. That whole “facing federal corruption charges” thing.
So, being a good wife, Patti stepped in. Apparently she had to eat a tarantula. On television. Here’s the money quote: Her husband, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, “says she ate the unconventional snack because she loves her two young daughters.”
For those who want to, here is Patti eating the bug:
And B-Rod himself talking about his wife:
OK, now. Here’s the thing. I think that Patti B probably needs the money more than Kate Gosselin at this point. Still, why does it have to be about the kids? Why not say “I need the money to pay for my husband’s legal bills”? Not to mention the fact that “Reality Television” is now a career option.
The old expression “it beats working at the Post Office” doesn’t really apply here in my opinion. I think I’d rather sort mail then eat a tarantula.

She was nice, I can’t imagine what possessed her to show up there.
