My 10 Favorite iPad Apps for Kids
In an ideal world, I would always be able to give my kids my full attention.
But since we don’t live in an ideal world, there are times when I need a little help.
Once we’ve exhausted arts and crafts and toys and every other solo activity and there are things that I just have to get done, the iPad is my best friend.
For me to pay for an kids’ app, it has to meet one of three specific criteria: it must teach something that my daughter needs to learn, foster her creativity, or allow me to squeeze in a shower.
And if it can do all three? I’m in love.
Here are my ten favorite apps for kids.
Happy showering!

Stephanie commented on Jan 26 12 at 2:36 amI think this one (Elfishki and the Giant Cake) should be on your list at #11. Got it for my 6 and 8 year old – this was the first time I ever seen them sit and read a book together (and for 20 min too)! :)
Megan commented on Jan 26 12 at 9:54 amI have Doodle Buddy too, but I warn toddler moms… They will find the most annoying- sounding stamp and do it 50 times. My son especially likes the dog stamps which includes a little piece of poo. Great grandma was not amused.
Liz commented on Jan 26 12 at 11:30 ammy daughter loves Bugs and Buttons and Monkey Math. both are fun and challenging. the Bugs game has terrific graphics and fun sounds too.
