A Parade You Don’t Want to Miss
My kids were busy doing something in the basement. I wasn’t sure what, but I know that it had to be engaging. They went missing for about two days. I didn’t bother rounding up a search crew, the silence was kind of nice. My main concern was the mess that had to be involved with whatever engaging activity was taking place.
The silence is almost always worth it.
They finally surfaced one night and asked me to come down and watch their version of the Parade of Roses.
Okay.
It’s a parade.
I went downstairs and this was not only a parade, but it was THE parade of all parades. Almost every book and toy took part in their wave-a-thon. Each float had a name and a theme and was very carefully decorated. Each float passed me slowly. I found it hard to not start waving back at all the barbies.
The highlight of the parade was…
The Bathroom Float!
This float, complete with bathtub, potty, chaise lounge and Barbies demonstrating each function of the ladies room with their very delicate waves, did not disappoint.
Wow! First I was speechless and then I giggled like a little girl. The creativity and imagination never cease to amaze me. This time, the mess was definitely worth the silence.
What’s the most creative thing your little one has done? I’d love to hear!
