2011 Through My Lens: My Favorite Captured Memories

DSC 0471 199x300 2011 Through My Lens: My Favorite Captured MemoriesI’m not a photographer, not even close. If I take 100 pictures in an hour while the kids play, and I often do, five may be worthy of printing for a photo album.

My children inherited more than their nose and disposition from their father. They are also blessed with his knack for picking the exact moment a picture is snapped for closing their eyes. It’s not unusual to take a photo of the three of them in which they are all mid-blink, but it’s almost certain that at least one will be.

As if that didn’t complicate my amateur photography enough, Anders is also not big on smiling in photos. In real life he’s almost constantly laughing or grinning, but the moment I break out the camera he becomes this stoic little creature. Asking him to pose for a picture is the quickest way to get a shot of him awkwardly grimacing (and of those I have quite a few now).

My favorite photos are always those taken candidly. Here are a few of my favorites for the year:

The Year's First Snow Storm
We started the year off with a foot of snow which was unusual for our part of the country. The kids were elated.
