My Most Treasured Photos.

we were waiting for cody. we got bored. Flickr Photo Sharing 300x194 My Most Treasured Photos. My mom is one of the best landscape photographers I know. She knows her way around a camera and always has. The bad news is that she is rarely in photos. I remember her complaining about this when I was younger, but it wasn’t until I noticed the lack of myself in family photos that I really started to understand what she meant. Vivi is almost six months old today and for the first time we had a picture taken today with all four of us in it.

It was taken in Addie’s school cafeteria.

I was wearing sweatpants.

There is one photo of my mom and me that I remember well. We had hiked up to a lake and my mom let my sister and me take turns with her camera taking pictures of each other with her. I was probably about 7 and I still remember that picture well. I’m pretty sure my sister does too.

If you were to leave this life tomorrow, what pictures would your kids treasure in 20 years?

Who knows if Addie will remember taking any of these or the circumstances that surrounded each picture. Each one to me has a distinct memory, where we were at in life, what we were wearing, where we were living and how we worked together as a family. Maybe none of these will be her favorite, but they certainly are mine.

either i have a pinhead or she has a big head flickr photo sharing My Most Treasured Photos.

Waiting in the car long arm shot.
This one was taken in the car we bought when she was only 9 months old.

Do you have a treasured photo with your kids?

I love the candid photos the best, too. Fake smiles and no life in my kids’ eyes bothers me about posed pictures. I am a little bit of a paparazzi around my little ones, but I catch them at just the right silly moment and have dozens of beautiful pictures that ooze their little personalities!

You know, it took me going to a funeral for a friend who died a few years ago to realize how important it is for me to get in front of the camera sometime. Someone tried to do a photo montage, but there were hardly any pictures of her and those that she had were not the greatest. I vowed then and there to make sure that wouldn’t happen to me. Yours are precious!

Love the last one. It seems like most of the pictures of the kids that include me are long ARM shots here too.
