The Best Go-To Accessory
Scarves are my favorite way to pull a look together and give it some polish—even when I’m running late, or need a shower, or have been on a plane overnight. I’m looking to trade out warmer, winter scarves for some lighter options now that the weather is warming up a little, and these are inspiring me right now. Keep reading to see where they’re from.
Fun Behind the Scenes Animated .GIFs at Burberry
Did you take in London Fashion Week online? Or maybe you were there in real life? Loving these behind the scenes animated GIFs at Burberry’s A/W 2012 show. I love this technology, always fun and fresh and so is Burberry’s fall collection. See more below.
Marni at H&M
On March 8th, H&M releases this year’s designer collaboration, Marni at H&M. A collaboration that offers a cavalcade of bright colors, bold prints and sophisticated silhouettes. You can view the entire collection in the slideshow below and check out which 3 items I think are the must-haves!
6 Fall 2012 Fashion Week Must Haves!
For Fall fashion 2012, the looks are elegant, structured and classic. Donna Karan’s collection used blacks, greys, leathers and bold hits of red (coats acting like jackets). Nicole Miller brings back bell bottoms, velvet and floppy hats. Ralph Lauren was all about timeless classics, luxury, velvet and fantasy. DKNY had structured silhouettes, jackets with strong shoulders, tightly fitted skirts and belted waists. Marc Jacobs took us to a fairy tale with cozy faux furs, wool stoles and shimmery brocades. Victoria Beckham showed a chic yet scholarly vibe. So what to grab off the racks this fall? Stay in the black, pump up the shoulder and get luxurious with velvets, wools, brocades and jewel-toned fabrics. Click below for a slideshow of six must-haves for fall and a fun wrap-up video of this year’s shows!
5 Spring Coats Under $50!
Ah spring, it’s just around the corner, and with it the hope of sunnier, warmer days! Spring is one of those seasons that doesn’t last very long it seems, so it’s hard to justify splurging on a super expensive coat. Or if you want to have more than just one option for outerwear, here are 6 new spring arrivals just for those purposes! (Above: Double-breasted trenchcoat from H&M, $49.95). Check out the others below!
Highlights From Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 Runway Show
Being stranded on the west coast (well not really) I watched the online live show of the Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 runway show. From an online perspective it was really rather quite impressive versus previous years or other shows I’ve seen online, probably due to the fact that the angle of the camera and the full screen version was used to it’s fullest potential. I really got a sense of the magic, a mystical forest presenting his fall collection in an almost fairy tale of sorts. Think Oliver Twist meets Victoriana. A jewel palette prevailed with brocades, faux fur, tinsel tweeds and embellished big-buckle shoes. The hats took the show over the top in a good way that Marc is known for. A fairy tale runway show from a fairy tale perspective. Click here to watch the show (now previously recorded) and here’s a link to a little clip of Marc Jacobs thanking the production team the eve of the show. Update: The collection is now online for reserve, so I’ve added a little slideshow of some of my favourites below.
