30 of My Favorite Picture Books
There’s nothing I like quite as much as snuggling up with my kids and reading a picture book. Here is a selection of some of my favorites — certainly not all of them because that list would be miles long. : )
Tell me, what are your children’s book essentials that I missed?

Goodnight Moon
any Fancy Nancy
any Robert Munsch (especially audio books – he narrates – in the car!)
Scaredy Squirrel, Chester, Augustine by Melanie Watt (brilliant!)
The Quiltmaker’s Gift
The Hockey Sweater by Roch Carrier (but you have to read it aloud with a Quebec accent)
The Berenstain Bears (I always wanted to live in their tree)
MaryHelen commented on Jan 16 12 at 5:53 pmI love the picture of your reading area. Oh how inviting! Time to Sleep by Denise Fleming, Muncha! Muncha! Muncha! Is another. Great selection.
Erin@myveryeducatedmother commented on Jan 17 12 at 12:44 amWe’re big fans of all things Willems. My two little ones were just as attached to their Knuffle Bunny books as Trixie was to her Knuffle Bunny.
I LOVE reading SkippyJon Jones books! Just try not to read in your best bandito accent!
Finally, I just love One and Zero by Kathryn Otoshi, lovely books that tug at your heart.
Gina commented on Jan 17 12 at 8:33 amPunk Farm, I Want My Hat Back, Hip and Hop Don’t Stop….more edgy and child/parent friendly and fun!!!
