The Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo. It’s big and brightly colored, made of plastic, and yes, it makes sounds. Of course the kids love it!

Before I had children, I assumed I’d be the parent with the tastefully knit stuffed animals and natural wood toys. We do have those things, sure, but we also have our share of the more commercially minded toys. The kids enjoy the heck out of them.

The big hit at our house was the Melissa & Doug workbench – though I’m sure that Little People Zoo would have given it a run for its money.

I use to think we wouldn’t have any of these toys either! But with a 2 3/4 and a 4 1/2 year old they have other ideas! Currently their favorites are the batcave (which is pretty cool) and the newest addition, the millennium falcon designed for the 4-6 year olds (with no small pieces).

Hula Hoops were the big hit at my house. $5 for hours and hours of bliss, gotta love it!

The little people farm was the big hit at our house! And, probably equally as loved, a very cool red wagon.

Amy, we bought the farm last year (ha ha), and it was a favorite. That’s how we knew the zoo would go over so well!

And Heidi, my husband bought the Millennium Falcon for our little girl, but she’s only two. I’m pretty sure he got it more for himself. ;)

I’m happy to hear that they loved it, because I bought the same present for my 18 month old twin cousins on a whim online.

My daughter loves her toddler-sized ride-in car and her “Cars” movie Duplos. I’m seeing a theme. :-)

We love Little People too, but didn’t get any this year. The zoo sounds fun!

Hahahahah, of course the kiddos love them. Marketing made sure of it. I’ve never seen commercials for hand knitted dolls or wood toys…only plastic legos, etc.
