I’m a Foam Hair Color Convert
Do you color your hair at home? I’ve done a lot of experimenting, starting when I was 13 and my mom finally allowed me to use a semi-permanent color over the summer (I went purple). Since then, I’ve been a bleach blonde, a redhead, a copper top, and every shade of brunette (my natural shade is dark brown). I’ve had highlights and lowlights, chunky streaks of what looked like flames (that one was an accident), and my favorite, pink. I’ve had my hair dyed professionally, but I’ve also had equally good results by doing it myself.
I’d heard good things about John Frieda’s hair color. Apparently they only make it in a foam version now, so I figured I’d give that a try (though it seemed weird to me). The foam was so much easier to apply without making a mess than traditional at-home hair dyes! Even compared to the “non-drip” formulas. I did reach a point early on in the dying process where I worried that I wouldn’t have enough to cover all of my hair, and that only my roots will be covered, but I kept going and there was more than enough. I’ve had perfect coverage the two times I’ve used it so far. My hair feels great afterwards too, thanks to the conditioner provided.
I used John Frieda Precision Foam Color, but I know of at least two other at-home options: Clairol Nice N’ Easy Color Blend Foam and L’Oréal Paris Sublime Mousse by Healthy Look. Have you tried foam hair color? Would you?
