Color-Blocking Trend: How To Master It
I am loving this color-blocking trend right now! This hot trend, wearing two or more blocks of color in one outfit, will not only continue into the fall, but will continue into the spring. We have some great tips on how you can master this trend, and be a definite standout!
Keep reading after the jump to find out how to master the color-blocking trend!
How to Master it:
- Color-blocking on steroids is not what we are after here– just like white in the winter, a little goes a long way. You don’t “win” for wearing the most colors at one time, folks.
- Try to combine a pop of color with other neutrals such as black, gray, white, or brown, especially at first if you are hesitant. That being said, this is not a trend to be shy with! Don’t be afraid to experiment mixing colors that you normally would never wear together, but still compliment one another. Nervous? A great way to do this is to start with solids. Try pairing a solid bright dress with a different color solid bright shoe that, conventionally, may not “go together” and see what happens!
- Beware of mixing color blocked garments or accessories — if you are wearing a color-blocked purse, please do not wear a rainbow inspired pantsuit- sensory overload.
- Most importantly have fun with it! One of the reasons I love this trend so much is because it is so bold. It emits a confidence that demands attention!
