Would You Pay Over $1000 for This Playhouse?
This indoor playhouse from TrueModern is certainly gorgeous. I love that it’s made from eco-friendly materials and it definitely has style but it’s pricey!
Do you think it would it be worth it for the hours of play that would accompany it? See another view below and tell me what you think.

And my girls wouldn’t care the least about the design, so I’ll continue to let them build their own forts/ playhouses.

Amanda commented on May 24 11 at 11:08 pmIt is really cute but it is too expensive. Maybe if it came with some built in benches or a pull up table or something. You just don’t get much for the money other than it being really stylish.

Why do we spend ridiculous amounts of money on “designer/stylish” toys for our kids when they’d be just as happy with a free cardboard box? I think we worry more about impressing our friends than thinking about what would actually make our kids and families happy….like turning that $1000 into $10,000 by investing in their education, or creating lasting memories by taking a family trip together, or best of all, living what we preach, that money and stuff, keeping up with the Joneses, and always hopping on the next “it” thing doesn’t make us, or our kids, any happier

Minimalist playhouses are for insecure parents. Makes me think of unhappyhipsters.com.

Sonja commented on May 27 11 at 11:08 pmWell, it is more than I would be willing to spend because of it’s simplicity. I did spend about $500 for an PBK play kitchen, refrigerator, pie cabinet, and assorted dishes and food. I felt like is was a splurge, but I live in the desert in Arizona. the temperatures in the summer months are well over a hundred degrees and we do mostly indoor play at that time. We don’t have lots of toys but what we do have gets really used. I purchased the set when my oldest daughter was two and I am happy to say that three years later it is still a favorite purchase.
I know a lot of parents that live in extreme temperatures will do indoor play sets. I am not shocked that the playhouse is designed for indoor use. There is a huge market for indoor parties, indoor play gyms, and indoor play equipment.
