Would You Trade Homes With Someone?
Have you heard of Homeexchange.com? It works like this, you sign up to list your home and pay a monthly fee (around $10) and then you can exchange homes with anyone in the world. To me, it sounds like a great way to get to know a culture and save money on lodging! Some people have told me it makes them nervous though. What if they steal your stuff or trash your house? The site says that in 14 years they’ve never had theft or vandalism occur. You can see more details here. Back to the daydream: I am partial to this London flat or how about this Swedish house …
Check it out here.
The real question is. Will someone want to come and stay at my house? I better get back to redecorating! See more homes for exchange right here.

Sara commented on Apr 27 11 at 12:13 amThe housing is always the most expensive part of traveling. Anything to help cut down the cost is okay in my book.

Daneen commented on May 05 11 at 12:55 amWe had the absolute best summer in Paris on a home exchange. A lovely French couple stayed in our San Francisco city studio, and we stayed at their adorable one-bedroom right near the Eiffel Tower for six weeks. It was such a great way to travel and really get a feel for living in Paris with actual Parisians as neighbors. We’re still in touch with our home exchange partners–I’d highly recommend it. People who are worried forget that it’s a situation of mutual trust, and, really, people are generally a lot more thoughtful than we give them credit for.
