Best Stuffed Animal Storage Solutions
There are tons of toy storage solutions — from bookcases to toy boxes — but what do you do with the mounding collection of stuffed animals? There have to be smarter, more stylish options than an unattainable ceiling net.
And there are.
Here are our 6 favorite stuffed animal storage solutions:
Jacinda Curtis (who writes for our Baby’s First Year Blog) posted her stuffed animal storage solution over at Prudent Baby, and we dig it. She uses a Crate & Barrel wire hamper ($20) so that her kids can pull out their favorite loveies from the sides without dumping the entire thing. We saw another smart handmade storage idea over at Ohdeedoh for kids who can’t stuff their precious babies in a bag:
Nancy at Dabbled and her handy husband bought an Ikea Kritter bed, but her 3 year old didn’t need a full-size mattress yet. So they simply used a crib-size mattress and built that smart stuffed animal compartment at the end of the bed. Love it!
For those with an ungodly number of stuffed animals…
Boon makes stuffed animal storage seats in three different sizes and styles, which your kids can stuff full and then lounge out on. Of course some imaginative children might be horrified that their best friends are smooshed against a mesh panel, but most won’t mind another cool piece of kid furniture to hang out on. These 3 Sprouts canvas storage bins ($39.99) are some of the most durable, adorable storage solutions out there. Your kids will have to rummage through it, of course, but at least you can throw in whatever toys are lying around.

Nancy commented on Mar 05 11 at 3:27 pmI got a body-pillow pillowcase on clearance at Target and they all go in there. It works great. It is flannel w/ a zipper so they stay in but are easy to get out. It doesn’t look bad if it is left out and she can cuddle w/ all her friends at night.

Pangolin commented on Mar 05 11 at 4:07 pmNot as elegant as some of these solutions, but simple and cheap are the pop-up bins that Ikea has. There are children’s ones in fun colors with animal lids, or their larger plain silver laundry hamper.

Janna commented on Nov 14 11 at 12:25 pmWe use an over the door shoe organizer to store our daughter’s stuffed animals. Ones that are more for look than play go at the top. All the favorites are easily accessible on the bottom.
