We made these this weekend with young kids – 4 and 5 – and they worked beautifully! Instead of coating the entire card, I had them cover up their own name on the “from” line so the secret message disclosed who the card was from. For young kids, splitting the draw the valentine and paint the valentine into 2 days works best (and then they don’t have to wait for you to cover them with contact paper and cut them out.
