Favorite Winter Break Tradition

One of our family traditions is to include an involved jigsaw puzzle under the Christmas tree. One with 500 or 1000 pieces. We open it up when things get slow on Christmas afternoon, and then let the puzzle sit out the entire Winter Break. We work on it slowly. My daughter will walk by and add a few pieces, then get distracted by a sibling. Or I might sit with my son for an hour or so and get through a whole corner section. Find our puzzle for this year below.

It’s been such a great tradition for our family! Sometimes it’s hard to find a good-looking puzzle, but I’m very pleased with this year’s. We bought this Special Delivery Puzzle. It’s full of stamps from all over the world and since we have travel on the brain, it feels very appropriate.

Do you have any Winter Break traditions?

We do this too! It’s such a fun, relaxing thing to do. I even did this during Grad School. I’d set up a puzzle and anytime I needed a study break, I’d work on the puzzle for a little bit then hit the books again!

That is a great idea! What do you do with the puzzles when you’re done?

One year, my grandparents bought my siblings and me those ‘magic eye’ puzzles. They took FOREVER to complete, but it was so rewarding to get to see the image when it was all finished!
