Give the Gift of Music
Kids don’t really need all that much. Just crank up on the tunes, get down on the floor and start a rumpus session that will make them happier than getting any toy. That said, the music you choose IS all important. While some CDs make my son jump like a monkey in banana shop, others leave him bored and uninterested. And of course, every child is different. Still, these two amazing companies are churning out great hits that no tot will be able to resist.
Check my faves after the jump…
Meredith LeVande has been doing the music thing for kids for years. That’s why she’s so good. As an educator and songwriter, Meredith developed the Monkey Monkey Music children’s program to put the interests of kids first. Her albums have won all sorts of awards and rave reviews from Parenting mag, but it’s the little critics whose opinions really count — and they just love her.
There’s a good reason this compilation has been called “the year’s most coveted item” by People Magazine, Name Your Tune CDs take your baby’s name and insert it into the lyrics of the most popular children’s songs. Get the picture? So “Old McDonald” turns into “Little Sophia” and “If You’re Happy and You Know It” becomes “If you’re Aiden and You Know It.” A huge hit with Hollywood’s celebs and savvys moms across the country, this is one of the hands down best gifts of the year.
