Sock Monkey Birthday Party
If you’ve ever read my blog, you know I’m a big fan of old-fashioned birthday parties–the ones that include games like “Pin the {__} on the {__}” and Hot Potato. I’m also a fan of not spending a bajillion dollars; rather, I prefer throwing kids parties that slide in under $100. Like many things in life, simplicity often brings the most enjoyment to all! My motto: Make it cute. Keep it Simple.
If I had a child who loved a sock monkey (or at the very least owned one!), this would be a fantastic theme and would be so much fun to plan, I daresay, for a little boy or girl. Here are my picks for invitations, party favors, munchies, and party attire. Enjoy!
Baby Sock Monkey Hat – $33 – so cute for a 1-year-old’s party, is unisex, and can be worn for other occasions as well.
Mini Sock Monkeys – s/12 for $53 – use some red and white twine and strap these cuties onto a water bottle, a napkin or to a cellophane bag as a party favor. Mini anything is a great way to go for a child’s birthday party and these are the perfect accessory.
Digital Invitation File (in both pink and blue) – $15 – once you purchase the file you can create as many invitations as you’d like! Go to town and invite the whole neighborhood (or don’t to preserve your sanity :)).
Cupcake Toppers – s/12 for $9 – go for a vanilla cupcake (or any white cupcake really) so the emphasis is on the color and presents a clean look.
Peasant Top for Little Girls (could also be a dress or tunic) – $30 – wear it for the party, but heavens, wear it to preschool too! So cute with leggings.
Sock Monkey Cookies – 1 dozen for $20 – a bit pricey for cookies, but these gourmet treats would really dress things up now wouldn’t they? I say order at least 1 dozen. They are just too cute to pass up.
