6 Best Halloween Costume Ideas 2010
Now that Halloween Week has come and gone on Family Style, we thought we’d wrap up with our favorite trends of the year for babies, kids and families. So if you’re still wracking your brain for something to do this year, check out our favorite halloween costume ideas 2010. (And yes, some of them are great last-minute options!)
1. Going Store-Bought This Year? Check out your favorite fashion stores instead of Halloween shops:
We found so many of our favorite stores carrying unique and well-made costumes, like American Apparel (above) and GAP (below).
Mainstream stores like Old Navy, Target (couture at Target? Yep!), Children’s Place (check out this awesome robot costume!) and Gymboree (love this hot dog costume) are coming out with affordable halloween costumes, as well as more fashion-forward collections, like from Les Zigouis (WOW!).
However, one of our favorite store-bought collections is from Pottery Barn, which carries everything from baby costumes up to (non-sleazy) teen and adult costumes!

2. Back to basics: Hats, masks and tails
These baby hats are so insanely cute that they can stand on their own as a Halloween costume.
The same goes for these Oeuf Halloween Masks and Tails!
We also really love the unique, well-crafted masks from Zid Zid Kid.
Another simple yet hysterical option: Baby Toupees — like this Donald Trump wig! (See more, like the Samuel L. Jackson wig, here.)

3. Trade, Swap, Recycle

5. Buy Handmade
So you lack the skills to hand-make your little one’s costume, but you still prefer the homemade look? Luckily thanks to sites like Etsy, handmade costumes have never been easier to buy. Our favorites of the year come from The Miniature Knit Shop, like the little Native American costume above, as well as a slew of other incredibly unique costume ideas.
