The Bennett House: Most Modern Dollhouse Ever!
When you think ‘doll house’ you generally conjure up visions of some quaint Victorian, a simple box like structure, or some pink plastic Barbie Dreamhouse type monstrosity. But what you usually would not think up is a modern, minimalist masterpiece like the Bennett House above, unless you are brinca dada…then you wouldn’t just conjure up these visions, you’d make them a reality.
The Bennett House is an amazing stylish ultra modern dollhouse that was “heavily influenced by the De Stijl movement of the early 20th century.” And this isn’t a standard house but rather a urban worthy townhouse. Tim Boyle of brinca dada said of his design that, “Townhouses are typically a stack of floors with a few windows on each floor, and no inside/outside relationship. I prefer architecture that reveals structure and engineering, hence windows extend past floors to show the weight and thickness of the structure.”
The home includes a two-story living room, an elevator, a roof top pool and glass rail balconies off the bedrooms. It also has the added bonus of being solar powered, which activates LED lights in the home. And it was also designed with the environment in mind utilizing CARB-certifies woods and only non-toxic, lead-free paints and stains were used.
But I should mention, there are two drawbacks. One, it won’t be out until Spring 2011. And two, it doesn’t come in human size so your dreams of moving in won’t happen. Sorry kids.
