The Cutest Rain Boots to Brighten Hurricane Danielle
There are three reasons I went on a kids rain boot hunt today: 1.) The news networks have been blowing up with Hurricane Danielle Staub 2010 coverage (although now we may be moving on to Tropical Storm Frank?) so I have rain on the brain; 2.) It’s grey, gloomy and damp outside; and 3) My son started a daycare where he spends time outdoors rain or shine, hence my need for rain boots — and cute ones, at that.
I was going to go with the standard Target frog boot that everyone seems to have (they’re PVC-free and super cute!), but I stumbled upon such a variety of seriously adorable boots that I knew I had to share:

Some of the most adorable kids rain boots I’ve found were at Kidorable, like the dinosaur rain boots above ($29) made from natural rubber. I also love their bee boots, which are a cute take on the classic yellow rain gear:
And, seriously, what little girl wouldn’t adore these Lotus Rain Boots, below?
Another outlet for kids rain boots that might not immediately come to mind is Vincent Shoes, a Swedish-born shoe company that continuously impresses me with their simple, high-quality designs. Pricey, you might assume? Well they’re having a final sale on their rain boots right now, so their 75% off sales mean boots for under $10! They have everything from cute little frog faces to understated, jungle-inspired designs, but my favorite might be the unconventional “blomma” boots, below:
Everywhere I searched I found one consistent theme: Hello Kitty. If you’re looking for a more original look, I love these Hello Kitty boots from Western Chief (along with their Butterfly Boot for girls and Automo-Billy for boys):
And if you want something different from the playground pack, these Blue Jeans boots from Plueys (with an adjustable nylon splash guard) are simply cooler than the rest:
