The Fruit Jacket: Protect Fashionable Produce
I don’t know about you, but bruised fruit really upsets me. I hate grabbing the last banana off the kitchen counter, only to discover a huge brown spot. Sad and frustrating!
This weekend my friend was telling me about Fruit Jackets and I thought she was delusional. She showed me a picture of them on her iPhone to prove her sanity. I seriously thought she had gone mad.
Say “buh-bye” to naked fruit after the jump!
A company by the name of Decor Craft Inc. decided to take the pain of bruised fruit to a new level. They have created neoprene zippered jackets for your favorite fruits – bananas, apples and pears. (Actually, the banana has a Velcro closure.) You can even tote them easier because each jacket has a carabiner attached to it for safe, fruity travels.
I’m not sure if there a science behind this product that really protects the fruit from bruising, but it seems to make sense. Maybe apples can be transported in lunch boxes a bit happier if they’re wearing small coats. Maybe fruit is tired of being naked all of the time. What do you think? Clever or silly?

You can give the Banana Fruit Jacket a try for $9.95 at Neatoshop.com.
