Enlist in Fall’s Military Trend

Picture 41 261x300 Enlist in Falls Military Trend Perhaps it’s because I just spent a week on a chartered sailboat with a uniformed crew.  Or maybe it’s  because I am now in the South of France where the men and women who serve and protect (as in the police and army) are—but of course!—dressed in  uninforms that are tres chic. Whatever the reason, I’ve got military clothing on my mind. Specifically jackets, which has much to do with the unseasonably cool weather in the Cote D’Azur at this moment.

The military trend marched its way down many of the Fall 2010 runways. This makes me  happy not only because I love a a well tailored military inspired coat, but because I already own one or two versions of jackets in this chic and classic style. And while I am lusting after more than a few of this season’s offerings—like this Balmain beauty at left, which I can only dream about— until I am in a position to purchase a new one, I will stylishly soldier on in my old favorites (including a Nili Lotan wool jacket from Fall ’08, and a Marc by Marc Jacobs Pea coat circa 2000).

If you are in the market for a Fall  jacket or coat,  I strongly recommend trying out the military trend. You’ll look chic this season and many seasons to come. Click here to see some of the military inspired coats that rank high on my list of must haves for Fall.
