Our First Lady of Style

obama.jcrew 176x300 Our First Lady of StyleMichelle Obama has certainly gotten some press lately with her alleged “lavish vacation” to Spain (hey, everyone needs a holiday right?!). But whether you’re Obama fans or not, you have to admit, our first lady is tres chic! I’ve been following her different looks on The Cut:NY Mag. Whether it be gardening in J. Crew and Converse or meeting a Queen in Moschino, she is always put together in something stylish and interesting. Unlike the past few first ladies who consistently looked like they were about to walk into a boardroom no matter where they were going… boring! But not Mrs. Obama. She is bold and adventurous with mixing colors and patterns. She’ll wear a belt by Sonia Rykiel, leather jackets by Rick Owens, and dresses by young designers such as Peter Som and Jason Wu. She has a few signature looks such as bow or ruffle collars and wide belts around her waistline. Here she is looking elegant in J. Crew. Just how does she do it? Michelle Obama’s main style advisor is the Chicago high end shop owner, Ikram Goldman of Ikram Boutique. See more details at About.com.
