Nikki-b’s Beautiful Beaded Jewelry
Diamonds may be some girls best friends, but I find more meaningful, day to day relationships with glitterati of another kind: glass beads. Don’t get me wrong I treasure my diamond engagement ring, but for me, the bling stops there. The rest of my jewelry is of the semi-precious sort. Which is why I love the collection by Nikki-b.
Nikki Butler, dubbed the “Queen Bead” by American Vogue, is a South African-born, globe trotting (she’s called New York and Santiago, Chile, home) former model, who has an exquisite eye when it comes to jewelry design. (She also happens to be a close friend of a friend of mine, so I’ve had the pleasure of hanging out with her, and aside from being a talented designer, she is a lovely person, wonderful mother, and fantastic cook. She made a heavenly key lime mousse the other night.)
Her designs are modern, chic and simple. And the best part, the materials she works with—silver, gold, the aforementioned glass beads, semi precious stones, ultra suede and silk thread— are not rarified, so the prices of these divine creations are incredibly reasonable. (The glass bead and leather cord woven bracelets, above, are just $70.) Which means, all you sparkle-seeking, style setters can collect more than one fabulous piece—which works out well as her bracelets and necklaces were made for stacking and layering. Speaking of layering, Nikki’s jewelry looks right at home with diamond rings and studs. All the more reason to get your rocks, and beads, on. See more Nikki-b jewelry after the jump.

Sometimes they’re just too fancy, sometimes they just don’t match with other pieces like my wax seal jewelry which has more of a vintage feel. I think the bracelets at the top would really go with it though, simply stated but still beautiful. It would be great to get a couple different colors.
