Design Yourself Some Nike Sneakers
During both of my pregnancies, I had the unfortunate luck of having sciatica. Very painful and very limiting on your footwear choices! I had to wear Comfortable, with a capital C, shoes. For the first six months I wore flat boots or ballet flats and it was okay however in my last months I really had to get serious: meaning sneakers. I live on Broadway and so pass about six different sneaker stores on my way home from Soho so I thought it shouldn’t be that difficult to find some cool ones. I wanted a pair of those contrasting colored Nike hightops that I’d been seeing around but couldn’t seem to find any that I loved in my size. I ended up finding a pair with contrasting pastel colors which were fine and wore them everyday for the last couple months. BUT what I didn’t know is that I could have designed my own to exactly my own specifications. On the Nike ID website. I designed these here (it totally satisfies your inner fashion designer to use this site!). See another design of mine after the jump…
Or if you’re not into bright colors and black or metallic are more your thing, here’s an option. You can choose from a bunch of different style shoes and from leather to canvas. They are great for anyone, pregnant or not, as they look cool with skinny or straight leg jeans or even the right dress or skirt. They run from about $105 to $160, depending on the style of shoe. Both of my sneakers here, which are Nike Dunks, would be $125. Only hitch is it does take about four weeks for delivery. But I waited this long for my perfect sneaker combination so what’s another 4 weeks?
