My Fashionable Friend Fridays: T-shirt Dresses and Oxfords
Today I am debuting a new weekly post I am calling My Fashionable Friend Fridays. Every Friday I will highlight a stylish woman I know (she could be a close confident or a casual acquaintance, but always someone who has an overall style I admire, or is just dressed in something that’s caught my eye).
Because I have been staying with my friend Danielle this past week—and because she is a woman with an enviable aesthetic—I will start with her. I am highlighting a look she sported one day back in June. I showed up at my daughter’s end of year school picnic to find Danielle dressed in a simple but chic (and very flattering) charcoal T- shirt dress by T by Alexander Wang (a version with pocket shown here ) and a pair of laceless Maison Martin Margiela black oxfords (similar pair here). She had accessorized this effortlessly cool look with a necklace that she had made by taking a stunning antique metal tiger claw, given to her by her mother , and hanging it on a black satin ribbon. I wanted to go out and buy the dress and the shoes—I knew the necklace was a lost cause—right then and there. Fortunately, by the time the picnic ended all the stores were closed. And we went out to get a glass of wine (which turned into a few) which kept me from hitting the always-open cyber stores. Click here to see another version of this must have look.
