Everything You Want in a Mom Necklace
Aren’t we lucky? In the last few years, there’s been an outpouring of fabulous option if you’re in the market for pretty “mom jewelry” — a shiny little something to hang around your neck that references your adorable child. Maybe it’s stamped with her name. Maybe it features his birth date. The whole idea is darling. But wouldn’t it be great if your mom necklace featured a name, birth date, birth weight & length, an initial, hand imprints, and feet imprints?
That’s what I love about the Life-Squared Necklace from Julian & Company. It’s a modern little cube dangling from a chain, with six sides to feature six bits of info. And the funnest part is that you can use it works as a wax seal fob too.
Find out what a wax seal fob is after the jump.
What’s a wax seal fob, you ask? Have you ever received a envelope that’s been sealed with wax? And the wax has a design or initial pressed into it? Well, you use the seal fob to press the design into the wax. In this case, you could use the Life-Squared necklace. Isn’t that the coolest?!
You just know this necklace is an heirloom in the making.

Pencils commented on Jul 02 10 at 11:01 amSeems a bit too large and chunky for a necklace, IMHO. More appropriate as a keychain charm. My husband had my “mom” pendant made for me by an Etsy jewelry artist. He posted on Etsy’s Alchemy area, asking for bids on the sort of thing he wanted: a gold pendant, possibly utilizing my and my daughter’s birthstones, with an image that’s related to my daughter’s name. The resulting pendant is gorgeous and I wear it all the time. I’ve used Alchemy for other projects and have gotten many amazing bids, I often felt sorry that I could only take one!
Bri (like the cheese) commented on Jul 02 10 at 11:20 amI use a wax seal that has a bumble bee on it because my initial is a ‘B’ :o) It’d be fun to have it as a necklace or bracelet fob.

“Pencils” it’s actually tiny (a little than 1/2″ squared) and super cute IMHO ;O).
