Printable Paper Dolls That Look Just Like Your Darling Kids
Here’s one more post to celebrate Handmade Toy Week. This summer, when the hottest part of the day arrives, my girls have come inside to the cool of the house and played with their paper dolls from Lily & Thistle. I’m so in love with these dolls! They arrived in a pretty little package and the dolls were customized to look like my daughters — long brown hair for Maude, a short blonde bob for Betty, little ponytails for Olive.
They came with lots of outfits and accessories, plus a CD. When the paper dolls have been played with a bit too much and they’re threatening to disintegrate, you can print out new ones from the disk. Isn’t that the best idea?

Lily & Thistle offer lots of options. You can order complete, pre-printed packages that will arrive in the mail. You can purchase print-your-own packages and download them immediately. Or you can even order outfits a la carte. There are contemporary outfits. There are fairytale outfits. And there are outfits from girls in literature — like Anne of Green Gables and Heidi. So great!
I could never have guessed how much play these paper dolls would get. It keeps surprising me. But I couldn’t be happier about it. It’s hard to get more wholesome or down-to-earth than paper dolls.
What about you? Did you ever play with paperdolls as a child? Do you think your kids would enjoy them?

Caroline commented on Jun 25 10 at 9:33 pmI LOVED paper dolls as a child. I still have the collection I bought from my cousins’ yard sale, which I bought when I was a child. I couldn’t bear to see them go after all of the hours we played with them. I dug them out a couple of years ago.
Nicelle commented on Jun 28 10 at 10:30 amI LOVED paper dolls too! I can’t wait to share my collection with my daughter. I don’t have a ton but I saved what I had in a single box–dolls separated with pieces of tissue paper. I didn’t even remember that I had them until my family found it in a box in the garage. I was so happy!
