bemz1 Child Friendly Slipcovers With A Summer FeelIf your home is peppered with Ikea finds, and you have kids with raspberry jam perpetually on their fingers, you many already know and love Bemz. They’re a third-party Swedish company that produces slipcovers specifically for Ikea sofa models. Have an Ektorp sofa? Then lucky you, Bemz offers slipcovers made to fit Ektorp perfectly, in dozens of fabric choices — even a Marimekko print. Nice.

Bemz just came out with a new more casual line of covers called Country Style. I think they look summery and beachy. A smart way to bring a seasonal change to your home without breaking the bank.

See more pics from the new line after the jump.

All Bemz slipcovers are made in 100% cotton or linen. Slipcovers are prewashed, preshrunk and everything is machine washable.

Are you a slipcover fan? Do you wash them regularly or are they a pain to get on and off your furniture? What’s your take on white upholstery or white slipcovers with kids in the house?

these look great. i’m all for a decent slipcover with crayon-weidling kids in the house. but are the ikea couches substantial? are they solid and comfortable to sit on- or are they flimsy and foamy? does anyone know?

I have 3 white Ektorp slipcovered couches with 2 babies, a husband and a chocolate lab. Going on 21/2 years, they are holding up great! They are comfy as seat cushions are topped with down feathers. The frames are solid, as well. The 3 seater couch is the most expensive piece and that is still under $500. Why we decided to try these out for our family was more for the price of replacing the slipcover as needed. All other companies charge at least $500+ if a new slipcover is needed…a busy family household? Good chance of that! Ikea’s? About $50. PERFECT! Covers DO shrink if completely dried in dryer-best to put back on furniture while damp.
Hope this helps!

Oh! Forgot to add that I love the idea of this independent company’s covers…a much more custom look! Thanks for sharing!
