Going Rogue at Renegade
Yes! Yes! Yes! The Renegade Craft Fair returns to NY this weekend – tomorrow can’t come soon enough! The Squirrel and I will be there on the dot of 11am, cash and coins in hand, to revisit some old favorites, and find some new ones too.
A couple of friends from work have booths again this year – I’ll be picking up things from Marcie, our craft editor at Living (and captain of our the craft dept blog – it’s terrif) who’ll be there with her ceramics, both wearable and for the table; and Laura (of WrenHandmade), whose handcrafted dolls are a favorite newborn gift of mine (you can custom order them with the new babes skin, hair and eye color – get going on a custom doll worksheet here).
Laura Normandin's dolls are each one-of-a-kind and all completely lovely.
I’ll be back for more whimsical oddities from The Small Object (I’ll pick up a couple of ABC posters, and a handful or three of their fab stamp sets – they’re a great small addition to a birthday gift).
These limited edition alphabet prints are a sweet go-to gift.
And there's nothing I don't love about the stamp sets.
I’m especially looking forward to discovering new things at Kom, whose graphic textiles, t’s and tights I’ve had my eye on for a while; and these Munchmoney purses are too hilarious not to grab a few of (I’ll pop whatever change I have left at the end of the day into one of them):
Bold color, supergraphic prints – just like the t's from my 70's childhood. Love them!
And how could I go to Brooklyn, the Borough of The ‘Stache, without picking up one of these from Handsome Howard?
Perf for a Brooklyn babe, no?
Serious Saturday fun! Can’t wait to share some new finds from Renegade to share with you next week.
* If you’re not in New York, you can catch Renegade in LA (July 24+25), San Francisco (July 31 – Aug 1) and Chicago (Sept 11+12). Their site has the schedule and also a terrif artists page if you’d like to browse the fair online.
