Cinnamon-Sugar Bacon Twists for Mothers’ Day Brunch
Bacon is a must for any special breakfast or brunch – and Mothers’ Day is the brunchiest day of the year! If you’re looking to do something a little different – and a way to prepare bacon in large batches that won’t splatter the stovetop – try baked bacon, doused in cinnamon-sugar and twisted before going into the oven. Twisting each piece also makes them a little fancier, but as a bonus they take up less space on the sheet, allowing you to make more at one time. The result – crispy, chewy, sticky-sweet bacon twists that are easy to eat with your fingers – perfect for breakfast in bed.

Easy Marshmallow Faux Fondant
I’m no Martha. But I do love the look of a smooth fondant-covered cake. Although I love to bake, I’ve always been one to leave that part to the experts, until I came across this simple, smooth faux-fondant – made with marshmallows and icing sugar. The result is a wonderfully soft, smooth and malleable dough that can be tinted, rolled and wrapped, cut into shapes or strips, or moulded into shapes. The potential is endless – and the mixture can be stirred together using no more than a bowl, spoon and microwave, in a matter of minutes. Best of all, it’s soft and delicious!
Easy Cheesy Stovetop Pizza
We are big fans of a good pizza dinner. I usually make it with our pizza stone in the oven, but lately I’ve started making it on the stovetop. It is SO easy! I also like this method because it is easy for making small, individual pizzas instead of having to divide up the toppings on the large pie. For example, my daughter loves cheese pizza while we like to add fun things like prosciutto, mushrooms, and arugula. This is a great weeknight meal just in time for summer. I can already envision whipping these up for everyone to eat on the porch for an easy outdoor meal. Enjoy!
You’re Feeding Your Baby WHAT?! 20 Controversial Baby Foods
Judging what other people feed their kids combines two of the great pastimes of our age — obsessing over who eats what and overreacting to minor differences in parenting philosophies. While parents used to have a simple solution for feeding their babies called baby food (the name is so simple, it’s food and it’s for babies, done and done), now they face a bewildering array of choices and beliefs that are bound up in conflicting ideas about health, the environment, ethics, and class. With so much emotion driving debates about what’s healthy and appropriate for babies to eat, it can be hard to get the simple facts.
To help, we’re going to roll up our sleeves and get down to the basics when it comes to 20 controversial baby foods. Continue reading »
