Chocolate-Butterscotch Candy Coffee Stirrers
Looking for an easy to make sweet treat for your kids to make for their loved ones this Valentine’s Day? Pick up some butterscotch candy sticks and swirl them in melted chocolate – voila – stir sticks to wrap and give moms, dads and teachers for their coffee. Of course there’s no real need for coffee to be in the equation – kids enjoy chocolate dipped candy sticks as much as any grown-up – nibbled on their own, or stirred into a mug of hot chocolate.
To make chocolate-dipped candy sticks, pick up as many candy sticks as you want to dip – any flavour, but caramel or butterscotch is tasty in coffee. Unwrap them and melt about a cup of chocolate chips (dark, milk or white) in the microwave or in a glass or stainless steel bowl set over simmering water.
Dip the ends of the sticks in the chocolate and set them on a piece of parchment or waxed paper until set. If you like, wrap them individually or in bundles in cellophane and tie with a bow. If you like, tuck them into a mug for gift giving.
