Football Pepperoni Pizza
The Super Bowl is coming up very soon. It’s this Sunday! Can you believe it? On February 5 at 6:30 ET on NBC, the New York Giants and the New England Patriots will go head to head. Who’s your favorite to win? We’re cheering on the Giants this year, or at least my family is. I’ll be cheering from the kitchen. My favorite part of Super Bowl Sunday is making delicious food for friends and family. This year I’ll be making lots of spicy appetizers and serving this fun, football-shaped pepperoni pizza. This pizza couldn’t be easier. You just place your pepperoni on the pizza in the shape of a football and use sliced white cheese as the “laces” of the ball.
Football Peperoni Pizza
Ingredients
1 pizza dough or pre-made crust (you can find my homemade recipe here)
pizza sauce (you can find my homemade recipe here)
shredded mozzarella cheese
pepperoni
sliced white cheese, cut in strips (I used Swiss cheese)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. If using fresh pizza dough, bring to room temperature. Spread dough over, or place pizza crust in pizza pan. Add pizza sauce and then cheese. Top with pepperoni, laying it slightly overlapping in the shape of a football.
Place Swiss cheese strips in the middle of your peperoni football to form the laces.
Bake according to pizza dough instructions, or until pizza is lightly browned and cheese has melted.
