Truffles1 Butterfinger Truffles: Last Minute Holiday Party Treat!

I saw this recipe on Bon Appetit last month and was so intrigued. Who wouldn’t love to make fake truffles out of Butterfinger bars?! I had to try it and was so happily surprised when the recipe turned out to be a total hit. My husband deemed them incredible – even if they are made out of candy bars – and we decided to try them out on our families when they arrive tomorrow. If you are in need of a last minute treat, this is definitely the one for you!

Butterfinger Truffles

adapted from Bon Appetit

10 ounces semisweet chocolate, roughly chopped

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 cup heavy cream

1 ½ cups Butterfinger bars, chopped

1/3 cup cocoa powder for rolling

1. Place the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl. Microwave the cream for about 2 minutes, or until it is very warm. Pour it over the chocolate and butter and stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Add in the chopped candy, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for two hours.

2. Line a baking sheet with foil and scoop the chocolate mixture with rounded teaspoon. Use your hands to roll the chocolate into round truffles. Roll in the cocoa powder and serve. Store in the fridge.
