What to Do With Leftover Thanksgiving Pie: Milkshakes

So, Thanksgiving has come and gone, and yet you still have leftover pie. Leftover pie can be tricky. Have you ever noticed that it seems to lose it’s pie-appeal after Day 2? Never fear. I have the perfect solution to your leftover Thanksgiving pie woes: milkshakes.
The people at Dairy Queen have the right idea. Pie belongs with ice cream, and pie chunks in ice cream become the perfect way to enjoy the day-after pies. Plus, I won’t tell if you maybe ate one of these milkshakes for lunch one day. Your secret is safe.
Leftover Pie Milkshakes
3-4 cups vanilla or cinnamon ice cream
1/4 cup milk
1 large or 2 smaller pieces of leftover Thanksgiving pie (approximately 1 cup)
In a blender, mix together ice cream and milk until smooth and creamy. Add in pie and blend just until mixed. Enjoy.
Makes 2-3 servings.

Nik commented on Nov 28 11 at 5:19 pmThis sounds really good, but I have to disagree that pumpkin pie loses its appeal after two days. My pumpkin pie seems to taste better after a couple of days… I enjoy every last piece!
Natalie commented on Nov 29 11 at 8:51 pmThis is my favorite way to eat pumpkin pie :) Only to save myself from having to dirty the blender, I stick a piece in a bowl with a scoop of ice cream and mash it together with a spoon. Heaven. Gorgeous photo Tidy Mom!
Mrs. L commented on Dec 13 11 at 4:09 pmSince we are having pumpkin pie for Christmas, and never seem to finish the pie, I think this will need to make an appearance on Boxing Day!
