Halloween Pop Tarts Homemade Pumpkin, Bat, Candy Corn & Ghost Pop Tarts for Halloween!

When I set out to make my favorite homemade Pop Tarts the other day I decided to give them Halloween shapes by using cookie cutters. I kind of can’t believe I’d never done it before, using cookie cutters to shape the Pop Tarts was so easy to do and they came out great. I treated it just like cutting out cookie dough, re-rolling the crust to make sure I’d used everything up! I filled these tarts with apricot jam and sprinkled them with sanding sugar to make them sparkle. I frosted the ghost to make it extra white and drizzled some nutella on my bats. They were all delicious and fun to eat for breakfast. Happy Halloween!

Homemade Halloween Pop Tarts

1 pie crust

Apricot Jam

Nutella

Cream Cheese Frosting

Preheat the oven to 400ºF.

2. Transfer the pie crusts to a lightly floured surface and cut it desired halloween shapes.

3. Spoon about 2 teaspoons of the apricot jam onto one of the rectangles, leaving about 1/4 inch of space before the edge. Use a cookie cutter or paring knife to cut little faces or eye holes in the pop tart. Then place the second shape, with no cut outs, over the jam and seal the edges together with the tines of a fork. Baking on a cookie sheet for 8 to 10 minutes, then allow to cool.

4. Frost the poptarts, drizzle them with nutella or sprinkle them with sanding sugar for desired effect.
