How To Make: Concord Grape and Lemon Puree
For some reason, every time I taste a concord grape it just takes me back to being a kid and growing up in New York. I remember sitting in my backyard with my grandfather and eating grapes in the evenings after dinner. I also remember helping him crush grapes in our garage to make wine…but those might have been different grapes. Either or, anything “grape” pretty much invokes fond memories and happy times.
When I saw this drink over on Food52 it instantly made me thirsty. The color is just gorgeous isn’t it? Who wouldn’t enjoy a nice glass of this refreshing, homemade grape soda after a day out in the lukewarm (or very warm for us southerners) fall sun?
And just because this version is a non-alcoholic one doesn’t mean you can’t make it a little more adult with a splash of vodka…grape flavored vodka perhaps?
With the help of Food52, you can learn how to make your own Concord Grape and Lemon puree at home.
Use this Concord Grape and Lemon puree in Merrill’s Concord Grape and Lemon Soda recipe…or maybe add it to some sparkling wine at your next brunch for a twist on your traditional mimosa.
