September is National Childhood Obesity Month, and together with Alliance for a Healthier Generation, Rachael Ray’s Yum-o! organization has put together a series of healthy recipes specifically for schools to use. They are recipes created with ease of prep in a school food service setting taken into account that exceed the USDA health guidelines and that have also been tested on real kids for their approval.

These kid-approved healthy recipes are available to all school professionals through the Alliance for a Healthier Generation website and include from-scratch favorites like:

::Southwestern Turkey Cobb Salad: Turkey roast and Southwest ranch dressing create a big taste.
::Silly Chili con Fusilli: Five-alarm fun served over fusilli pasta including a “fixin’ bar” that gives students a chance to customize their own meal.
::Orange You Glad its Glazed Chicken and Noodles: “A-peeling” Orange Glazed Chicken can be served with chopsticks for added fun.

You can also grab the at-home version of the recips on Yum-o!
