Walnut Recall Expanded
The public warning issued issued last week has been expanded to include raw shelled walnuts sold from bulk and additional prepackaged raw shelled walnuts and walnut containing products. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Johnvince Foods are warning the public not to consume certain bulk and prepackaged raw shelled walnut products as they may be contaminated with E. coli.
The products may have been distributed nationally, but there have been no reported illnesses associated with their consumption.
Affected brands include:
Bulk walnuts distributed by Johnvince Foods and sold at retail from bulk bins
President’s Choice Raw California Walnut Halves Unsalted
President’s Choice Deluxe Trail Mix
No Frills Natural Walnut Halves and Pieces
Longo’s California Walnuts
Compliments California Walnut Halves & Pieces
Compliments Walnut Halves
FreshCo California Natural Walnut Halves & Pieces
Marketplace Co-op “Halt” The Salt Walnut Halves & Pieces
Johnvince Foods Caramel Toffee Walnuts
Stock & Barrel Caramel Toffee Walnuts
Joe’s Tasty Travels California Select Walnuts Mostly Halves

Johnvince Foods, Toronto, ON is voluntarily recalling the affected products and the CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recalls.
