Protein Sneak Attack!
One of my dear friends emailed me tips on how she sneaks protein into her daughter’s meal. We all know about veggie purees, but what about getting much needed protein into your kids’ diet that’s not chicken nuggets or fish sticks? Find out what my new secret protein weapon is after the jump…
Textured Vegetable Protein is an amazing source of protein that you can put your kids’ pastas and rice. Call them “sprinkles” and your kids will have a blast putting them on their meals. Textured Vegetable Protein can be found in most grocery stores as it’s a fairly basic but highly nutritious soy product. Sometimes I place the Textured Vegetable Protein in a fancy cup or the back of a small dump truck for my little boy. My girl got such a kick out of pasta with sprinkles she kept asking for more and her little brother will do anything she does so it was a hit all around.
