Orange Dream Milkshake
As a kid, I always loved orange creamsicles. I hadn’t had them in a while, and while browsing the ice cream aisle with my son, he pointed and screamed for the orange popsicles that looked like lizards. At the discount grocery where we were shopping, the store brand orange creamsicles had pictured on the box the cartoon head, feet and tail of a little bright green lizard. My son was instantly attracted to the cute lizards. He’s obsessed with the little guys. One of the fun things about living in Florida, other than the oranges and sunshine are all the lizards in the central and southern parts of the state. There is always an endless supply of lizards for little boys to chase and catch.
We went through our orange creamsicles way too fast, and I wanted to make something else that had the same flavor, so I thought milkshakes would be the perfect thing. The orange flavor and creamy vanilla ice cream in these milkshakes is so delicious, and perfect for a hot sunny day. These can’t be easier to make either. Just use orange juice concentrate, vanilla ice cream and milk. For a little more vanilla flavor, I added a touch of vanilla extract. Top with whipped cream, and you’re set.
