Cherry Limeade
While my family loves fresh homemade lemonade, we also like to change it up and make limeade too. Limeade is made exactly the same way as lemonade. There are some recipes floating around the web about putting the whole limes in a blender to make limeade. However, after experimenting with this method, I would not recommend it unless you love extremely bitter drinks. Simply using the freshly squeezed lime juice, as well as some pulp if you like, is the way to go if you want a limeade without the bitterness. Today I got some 100% pure cherry juice to add to our limeade to make the perfect cherry limeade. I finished it with some club soda and simply garnished it with a lime slice and a maraschino cherry. Add a shot or two of vodka in your glass to make an irresistible grown-up summer cocktail.
Cherry Limeade Recipe
Ingredients
the juice of 4 limes, or 1/2 cup lime juice
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup 100% juice, no sugar added cherry juice
3 cups club soda
water and ice
maraschino cherries
lime slices
Method
1. Pour sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan, and heat until sugar dissolves. Pour sugar water, lime juice, cherry juice and club soda in a 2 quart pitcher. Stir well. Add ice and water to fill the pitcher up the rest of the way.
2. Stir well and serve with garnished with a lime slice and a maraschino cherry.
Life is just a bowl of cherries…at least when you’re making these decadent cherry recipes!

Angela commented on May 04 11 at 7:39 amThere is no way the juice of 4 limes = 4 cups of lime juice… Typo? I’m guessing the juice of 4 limes is accurate to the rest of the recipe?

Sheryl commented on May 08 11 at 12:47 pmDid you actually juice the cherries? I never noticed…or do they sell cherry juice with no sugar added ???
Angie commented on May 08 11 at 7:44 pmIn my local grocery, they have a 100% pure black cherry juice, and a Cherry Juice from Juicy Juice, which works equally as well, both with no sugar added.
