Angry Birds Mini Pizzas
After making these Angry Birds Mini Pizzas I seem to be seeing Angry Birds everywhere I look. Those fluffy feathered friends with angry little eyes and frowning beaks are everywhere. And now they are even in pizza. Mini Pizzas…
Now lets be honest here – I have never played Angry Birds. But I’ve heard about it. And the uni-brow red bird character is beyond fun. Kids seem to be crazy for these birds and I can see why. So I knew I had to make Angry Bird Pizzas.
But first, I needed to google. This sentence stood out to me on the Angry Birds Wiki page:
“In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield.”
..wha? Slingshotting wingless birds to attack pigs? Wow that’s nutty! Well, then again, when I was a kid I enjoyed playing a video game where two plumbers named Mario and Luigi would run through the sewer system trying to save a princess – eating magic mushrooms all the way. Then there was another video game where teenage turtles (mutant turtles) would karate chop a big rat and sling pizzas at other enemies.
..hmm, maybe these Angry Birds aren’t so crazy after-all.
Onto the pizza!..
Angry Birds Mini Pizzas
vegan, makes 2 small pizzas
* I used all vegan ingredients, but you can easily sub with whatever you’d like to use.
1 ball pizza dough (enough for 1 large pizza) – split into two balls
1 cup white cheese, I used Daiya brand
2-3 Tbsp olive oil
Toppings/Faces
red tomatoes
orange tomatoes
soy pepperoni
olives, sliced
onion slices, small
red pepper flakes
carrot slices
raisins
orange citrus beak
Now I could give you a step-by-step – but I think the best instruction is simply to study my pics and see what I did. You can easily make a few substitutions with ingredients as well!
Good luck! Have fun. Eat Angry Birds.

Katie – Trader Joe’s has a good vegan pizza dough, at least they do here in San Francisco.
