Lemon Pepper Tahini Broccoli
My Lemon Pepper Tahini Broccoli is a delicious veggie side dish that enhances the natural deliciousness of broccoli. Fast, easy and full of flavor. This creamy, dairy-free tahini dressing is sure to please..
Broccoli is one of those veggies that most kids and adults actually love to eat. It’s tender and mild in flavor – and I mean who doesn’t like chomping on mini trees, right? But sometimes it’s fun to jazz up the flavor of broccoli with a quick dressing. I came up with this zingy dressing one evening and have been tossing my broccoli in it ever since. Lemon. Pepper. Yum.
Broccoli is incredibly healthy too – it is rich in fiber, antioxidants, low in calories and one of the rare cruciferous veggies (similar to cauliflower) that has been known to enhance your nutritional health. Give this flavorful broccoli dish a try!..
Tahini. I love it! I keep it in my fridge as a must-have staple. A small spoonful can enhance a wide variety of veggie dishes. Salads love this stuff! Carrots, greens, cabbage slaws – pretty much any veggie will be happy getting a drizzle of tahini.
I like to mix tahini with apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, seasoned rice vinegar or another acid. Then sometimes I’ll add a drizzle of olive oil and maybe a sweetener like agave or maple syrup.
Perky rainbow colored peppercorns and lemon juice are the perfect combo for this recipe..
Lemon Pepper Tahini Broccoli
1 large bunch of broccoli, organic (broken into florets)
Lemon Tahini Dressing
4 Tbsp tahini
3 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp fresh ground black or rainbow peppercorns
To Make:
Whisk together the dressing and set aside.
Steam your broccoli florets until tender.
Toss the broccoli in the dressing.
Serve warm – or stick in the fridge until chilled and dressing thickens a bit.
*I like it best chilled, but warm is delish too.

[...] 4. Tahini Tahini is basically ground up sesame seeds. Tahini is incredibly useful in adding creaminess to your recipes without adding high fat dairy products like mayo and sour cream – both of which can contain saturated fats. Since tahini is made from seeds, it has a nutty, perky flavor that combines well with a number of veggies.
