Pancake Week5 150x150 Delectable Cinnamon Streusel Pancakes from Two Peas and Their PodPart of my celebrations for Pancake Week have included asking my favorite fellow bloggers and chefs about their favorite pancakes.  Today, Josh and Maria of Two Peas and Their Pod are sharing their favorite pancakes, a recipe for Cinnamon Streusel Pancakes.

I’m thinking I may have to make these for breakfast tomorrow . . . they look so divine that I don’t think I’ll be able to help myself!

Rachael: Why are these your favorite pancakes?
Maria: The cinnamon streusel topping takes these buttermilk pancakes to a new level. The cinnamon streusel topping creates a sweet crust that goes perfectly with the fluffy buttermilk pancakes. Top with butter and let it melt all over the top of the pancake-pure bliss!

Rachael: Is there a story behind the recipe?
Maria: The recipe is based on the “Recess Time” pancakes at The Griddle Cafe in Hollywood. We had them on vacation and instantly fell in love. We recreated them at home so we can enjoy them all of the time.
Rachael: What are your favorite pancake toppings?
Maria: I like fresh fruit and Josh likes butter and pure maple syrup.

Rachael: When do you like to make them?
Maria: We like to make pancakes for breakfast on the weekends or for dinner during the week.

Rachael: Any favorite tricks or tips to pancake making?
Maria: Josh is the pancake master at our house. He always makes sure the griddle is hot and doesn’t flip the pancakes too early. You have to wait for the bubbles:)

Rachael: What would you do for a stack of pancakes?
Maria: It depends on the pancakes, but we would do anything for our cinnamon streusel pancakes. Make them and you will soon understand.

Rachael: Maple Syrup: cold or hot?
Maria: Hot

Rachael: Lighter or darker? Crispy edges or barely cooked?
Maria: Light and fluffy

Rachael: Stacked or not stacked?
Maria: Stacked
