Quick and Easy: Cheeseburger Macaroni
I must confess, this dish is quite addicting to me and my family, even though it is shamelessly close to a box of Hamburger Helper. I discovered its delights when I bought up a bunch of Annie’s Pasta Cheeseburger Macaroni. Whenever I made that, I always added about 2-3 tablespoons of tomato paste to brighten it up a bit, and then my kids and I would devour the whole thing.
My own recipe is just as easy as using a packaged variety, but you make it your own by using whatever pasta you like, and whatever pasta sauce you like.
Cheeseburger Macaroni
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion, finely diced
2 cups of your favorite pasta sauce, jarred or homemade
2 cups cheddar cheese
1 pound cooked pasta
salt and pepper to taste
1. In a large nonstick skillet, brown the beef with the onion. When beef is cooked through and the onion is tender, stir in pasta sauce. Stir in cheese, and pasta, and season to taste.
