LivingSocial Deal of The Day: $10 off $20 Amazon Gift Cards
It’s not too late to cash in on LivingSocial’s deal of the day. The website, which offers deep discounts on a variety of local services, is selling $20 Amazon.com gift cards for $10.
Today’s deal is unlike most LivingSocial offers, where companies pay a cut of the coupon profits to the LivingSocial company. A ”retainers fee”–if you will–in exchange for the company’s massive network of consumer contacts. Instead, today’s Amazon deal includes gift cards purchased by LivingSocial, with the company potentially taking a cut from the investment. LivingSocial has not released the amount paid to Amazon for the gift cards. But it seems the deal will leave either the LivingSocial company, or Amazon itself absorbing the cost.
The New York Times reported, “As of 3:15 p.m., with nearly 17 hours remaining to purchase coupons, LivingSocial has already sold 711,870 coupons for $7,118,700. It seems to be on track to surpass Groupon’s $11 million in sales of the Gap coupon.”
One thing’s for sure, it’s not too late for you to cash in on the deal. If you’ve been hankering to by a few favorite cookbooks, kitchen supplies or new appliances, today’s LivingSocial deal offers consumers the chance to snatch up 50% savings on everything sold through Amazon.com.
