pear gruyere grilled cheese 300x200 Pear and Gruyere Grilled CheeseLunch can always use a bit of a pick-me-up. Although there are always thousands of things to make, we often get stuck in a rut. One way to get out of it is to take something very ordinary and change up the ingredients just a little bit. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich, for example, can be made different by using almond butter and cherry preserves.

For this regular grilled cheese, which I might normally make with cheddar and a sliced tomato, I used gruyere cheese and a few slices of pear. I fI had ham in my fridge, I might have added that as well.
