cinnamon banana waffles1 Cinnamon Banana Waffles: A Wholesome Family BreakfastWarm, wholesome waffles are a great way to start a busy weekend morning. I love the family togetherness, and a filling meal gives me the energy to accomplish everything that needs to be done.

This recipe, with a mixture of whole-wheat and quinoa flours, is big on flavor and nutrition. All in all, a great weekend treat for everyone on the family.

Cinnamon Banana Waffles

2 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup quinoa flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 banana, mashed

Preheat your waffle iron, and preheat your oven to 200 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine the flours, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, lightly beat the eggs. Then add the milk and vanilla. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and stir just until combined. Fold in the butter, and then the mashed banana.

Pour 1/4 cup of batter per waffle into your iron and cook until golden brown. Place the cooked waffles onto a platter in the warm oven.

Serve waffles with some banana slices, butter, and a drizzle of warm maple syrup.

This recipe has me asking the question “Why do I not own a waffle iron?”

@Freedom, You don’t? I guess there’s always pancakes. Thanks for checking out the recipe anyway.

Your timing could not be better. I was just wondering what could be done for breakfast with one lonely ripe banana.. I’m making them now! Love quinoa flour. Thanks!!

@Julie, Yay! That’s awesome. I am slowly working up to omitting the a-p flour all together and was really surprised how light the texture of these were. Enjoy your cozy breakfast!

Ever wonder about all the free stuff you see on the web? It appears like everybody wants to give stuff away for nothing, nada, zilch. But are these items truly free of charge? If so, how can these companies afford to give away all of these coupons and samples? It’s truly all about you, the consumer. We live in a very competitive world marketplace place. The internet has upped the ante in terms of who could be seen and heard via all with the mass media. Now companies need to make lots of noise and this is one way that can do it. One of the best place on the web is called “123 Get Samples” and get your free stuffs
